Discussion: Challenges in Decision Making
It is one thing to solve decision problems, but it is something else entirely to be able to identify mistakes you have made and figure out how to fix those mistakes. For example, it may be difficult to find typographical or grammatical errors in your own writing. It can help to have others look over your work and have them explain what they think went wrong.
To prepare for this week's Discussion, complete the assigned reading and then the Assignment. This Discussion is an opportunity to discuss with your colleagues your experience completing the probability problems from the Assignment. When learning any new subject, it is important to not only determine what you know but also what you do not know. This Discussion is meant for you and your colleagues to provide help, feedback, and support for each other.
Post any questions or challenges you experienced when completing the problems in the Assignment. Explain how these problems can be applied to decision making; provide an example.
Read a selection of your colleagues' postings.
Respond to two colleagues by providing feedback and/or suggestions to address their questions or to help them overcome their challenges.
Return to this Discussion in a few days to read the responses to your initial posting. Note what you have learned and/or any insights you have gained as a result of reading the comments your colleagues made.
