Discussion: Airline Passengers Protection
The Discussion Board is an integral part of your learning in this course. You are encouraged and expected to participate in online discussions.
In recent years, weather, especially snow and ice, has caused passengers to spend excessive amounts of time sitting on aircraft while they wait for the weather to clear before deplaning. The Department of Transportation (DOT) has written rules which penalize airlines with fines if certain timeframes are exceeded, this is an area in which airline managers must pay careful attention and monitor weather conditions in order to avoid fines and damage to the airline's reputation. Discuss the impact upon an airline for violating this DOT Rule. Include any actions management should institute to prevent this from happening to their airline.
Please review the U.S. Department of Transportation Expands Airline Passenger Protections website.
