Discussion about preference for backcountry skiing

Assignment task: You are in the town of Revelstoke, BC. You have had three days of day tours and resort skiing so far. There has been an active storm pattern, with new snow on the first two days and none yesterday. It is early in the morning of the fourth day. You had planned to tour today, but there was more new snow last night. If avalanche conditions are OK, your group has a strong preference for backcountry skiing. What should you do?

A. Drive to Roger's pass and do your planned backcountry day tour. Woohoo!

B. Avalanche conditions don't look good. Spend the day in bounds at the Revelstoke ski resort located just outside town.

C. Ski conditions look bad.  Bail (cancel skiing) and take a fascinating walking tour of the BC Hydro Revelstoke dam.
