Discussion about pay transparency in job postings


Problem: The policy I have chosen to discuss this week is "Pay Transparency in Job Postings." This policy comes into effect on October 1, 2024. This policy has mandated employers to post wage ranges with any job listing for employment. Previously, Maryland only required employers to offer a wage scale if a prospective employee asked for the range. Under this policy, it is required with any job posting for employment. The range is to include minimum and maximum hourly rates. Employers are to keep job postings on record for a minimum of three years after posting. Why do not people support this policy?
