Discussion about changes in someones adult life

Assignment task:

According to Broderick and Blewitt, bodily changes are one of the most obvious changes in someone's adult life. (2020). I think we can all recall a time in our life listening to the adults around us discussing the changes of life that they were going through, everything from weight gain, hair loss, hormone imbalances, to memory loss. Also, I can remember a time that I thought that this wouldn't happen to me if I would do things differently- such as walking, weight training, eating right, or whatever I needed to do to keep a healthy lifestyle, those changes wouldn't happen to me. Little did I know, as I found out with my own age that hormonal imbalance issues are a real thing. It didn't matter how much I walked, exercised, watched my diet, the weight gain was a real thing that I just could not get by. According to Infurna and Lachman, promotion of physical activities should in turn enhance health and quality of life later in life. (2020).

Another change for my midlife would be that of a social loss. I find myself working endless hours at my job which I love, coupled with time spent with family and my schoolwork, makes time for myself, or with friends almost impossible. I have found myself working so much to life for my children, one that I want them to look back upon and know that I did try my hardest to make them happy. Along with that, I now find myself navigating the waters of my children making their own way in their lives and I hope that I have instilled in them enough to go out in the world to be successful in whatever they decide to do. It does leave me to reflect on my life, I was so caught up in the moment of everything for them- I now find myself relearning things that I like to do, such as gardening, reading, even enjoying quiet time to myself. Just as Lachman mentioned, leisure time sure did take a backseat during midlife as I was juggling too many things at once without me even realizing that it was occurring to me. (2004). Reflecting back, I wouldn't have changed a thing
