Write a four to five pages analyses paper about Artwork Painting.
Content: What to include in your paper:
1.) Discuss "Woman Seated in a Chair" by Picasso, painted in 1941.
Describe the subject of the painting, the theme, the period when it was painted. Then continue by giving a subjective evaluation of the painting. What is the story of the painting and what is the painter trying to tell the viewer? Did you like it? If so, what did you like about it (BE SPECIFIC)? If you did not like it, explain in detail what bothered you about it. How did it relate to your initial expectations from slides you have seen in class? Did it surprise you in any way? Did what you have learned in this class add to your experience?
2.) Go Contemporary Gallery, first floor and choose ANY PAINTING OF SCULPTURE.
Describe the subject of the painting or sculpture, the theme, the period when it was done, then give a subjective evaluation of the piece. What is the story of the piece you have chosen, what was the artist trying to tell the viewer? Did you like it? If so, what did you like about it (BE SPECIFIC)? If you did not like it, explain in detail what bothered you about it. Did it surprise you in any way? Try to find one aspect of it that you found particularly interesting/repellant/beautiful/strange and explain why you had that reaction. Did what you have learned in this class add to your experience? Explain any opinion you present in a clear and analytical way.

• Show that you can identify, and analyze features of the painting that illustrate the knowledge and vocabulary you've learned in class.
• Demonstrate an ability to clearly express your thoughts on paper.
