Problem
Think of a phoneme that has been difficult for one of your ELL students to pronounce. First, identify the phoneme and describe why it may be difficult, based on your knowledge of phonetics and phonology. Discuss whether this is a "patterned" pronunciation difficulty for individuals from that L1 group (you will need to do some online research to find this out). Then, provide a minimal pair of words that you might use to help students hear and produce that sound. Describe an example activity you would use to teach the minimal pair.
