Discuss - when is competition not competition

Assignment task:

Reply to my classmate and say that I am agree with her "DQ1 When is Competition Not Competition I always thought of competition as finding a singular product (computer or car) and comparing pricing online or from catalogs and considered that competition. Never realized that the same product offered by different companies is not competition. One company may be able to offer a potentially better price because they sell in greater volume and therefore can offer better discounts. You may choose to go with the better price point, but you are not truly getting competitive offers because FAR describes this as brand name purchases. To have a truly competitive offer you would need to seek proposals or competitive quotes from companies that produce similar products with common features. The pricing may be different because of how the product is produced (automation or by hand) or by geographical location. True competition would be like comparing 4 different coffee cups produced by 4 different manufacturers around the US."
