After reading and considering the article, Policy Advocacy in Everyday Organizational Practice (there is a link to this article on the Week 7 overview page), review the policy advocacy activities of an organization with which you are familiar. This could be current or previous employment, current or previous field placement, current or previous volunteer experience.
1) Give your classmates a brief synopsis of the mission/service provided by the agency.
2) Discuss what advocacy activities are currently taking place.
3) How might these activities be consistent with or contradict points made in the article. Please Explain.
4) Give a few suggestions about how improvements might be made.
HINT: Remember we are discussing policy advocacy activities (not advocacy activities in general). Don't pick an organization that isn't engaged in any advocacy activities related to creating or changing legislation, collaborating with legislators or other policy advocacy activities as defined by your text and the assigned reading
