You have learned from your readings that wood has many different uses. You have also learned that "forestry scientists estimate that 30% to 50% of the world's forests have already been destroyed, cleared for agriculture, firewood, or lumber" (Levetin and McMahon, 2012), and that forests are not regenerating at a fast enough rate to replace the trees removed by harvesting (ibid).
If the rate of deforestation continues, we could conclude that we will reach a point where there are not enough forests left to satisfy our needs for wood and wood products.
Based on Internet research, identify some of the many ways our future wood needs might be satisfied. How sustainable is each of the various options? Please have citations of research articles (APA).
