The patient signs the surgical consent form that is written in English. After reflecting on this scenario, answer the questions below. Answers must be supported with ethical theories, principles, policy, and/or law. Has informed consent taken place in this situation? Why or why not? Were any ethical or legal principles violated? Explain your rationale. What responsibility does the patient have in this situation, if any? Identify and discuss a minimum of three ways a healthcare provider could better ensure informed consent.
