Assume the role of a volunteer in a specific health-related advocacy organization. From this perspective, summarize for other volunteers the advocacy structure of your organization and the process used to establish the advocacy agenda in the organization. Your summary should address the role of organization's mission and membership in determining the agenda. Also, provide a brief overview of the legislative process required for your health care issue to become policy, the type of legislator (senator or representative) who is supporting your issue, the committee of the appropriate legislative body (United States House of Representatives or Senate) that will address your proposed policy, and a discussion of the estimated timeline. Use the multimedia challenge in Unit 6, Vila Health: Advocate Interview, to help address these issues.
