Assignment task:
Strong relationships of mutual trust between law enforcement and the communities they serve are critical to maintaining public safety. Currently, in many communities police officers don't have a great reputation. In particular, in communities of color the majority of citizens don't talk about becoming a police officer, many don't know any police officers or have family members who are police officers Therefore, law enforcement is trying to create a better environment and relationship in these communities.
Law enforcement agencies across the country are seeking applicants who are motivated to work hard in these communities to improve the quality of life for everyone. It's a tough job and its even tougher now because the demands placed on officers is much higher than ever before.
Identify what you believe is the most critical issue in policing today, but more importantly identify what you believe is the solution to the critical issue. The purpose of this assignment is to articulate the problem and to provide what you believe is the solution. Additionally, what is the most important issue/concept you learned in class this semester?
