Profiling of intelligence information from telecommunication companies for the purpose of security is a hot issue for all of the intelligence and security agencies today and is supported in that it is the work to protect the security of the citizens at all cost. However this cost is compromising the rights to privacy of numerous Americans (Oliver, 2006). Intelligence gathering is acceptable in a political framework but unacceptable in a moral one and spying the lives of innocent Americans must stop as this is a clear violation of fundamental rights and freedoms.
