Sometimes this conflicts if managed properly can be beneficial in a company as it fosters a healthy competition environment, however, in other cases conflicts can be detrimental in an organization (Santoro, 2012). I once had a conflict with a team member in the marketing department, where I work. This conflict was brought about by my co-worker who was not pulling his weight at work and left all the work to the rest of the group. His subpar work was affecting everyone in our department and it started showing in their performance and in the results of work, therefore getting us in trouble with management.

There are various ways of the mediation process that can be used to resolve this conflict. The first step would be to prepare for a resolution this could be achieved by acknowledging the conflict. Once the team recognizes the issue then it will be easy to start the process of resolution. The other way would be discussing the impact that the conflict is having on the performance and the team's dynamics.We should look at trade off in any case, by then at preventing it (AmanuelG.Teklaeb, 2009). Everyone in the team must agree to communicate openly and cooperate and put the team first. The second step for resolving a conflict is to clarify everyone's position as this would help the team to see the facts clearly and more objectively and with less emotion (Blascovich2, 2011).

I could use these indexes to evaluate my work by comparing my work to others, by evaluating how well I can adapt to others ideas and how well I make use of the knowledge that I have.
