The shoulder is very unique as it is considered to be the most movable joint of our body. On the downside; however, the shoulder is very unstable and prone to many injuries. Injuries to the shoulder can have a multitude of causes that often result in sprains, strains, separations, dislocations, tendinitis, torn rotator cuffs, fractures, and arthritis, just to name a few.
Select one sports activity (other than swimming) that frequently causes shoulder injury and address the following elements:
1. Discuss the structure and function of the shoulder girdle and shoulder joint and how your selected activity impacts that functioning.
2. Explain how the trunk is relevant in the movement of the shoulder in general and specific to your selected activity.
