1. Discuss the six images of managing change and how each can effect an organization: Director, Navigator, Caretaker, Coach, Interpreter, Nurturer.

Discuss the six environmental pressures for change faced by managers: pressures to carry out fashionable management changes; pressures that are forced or mandated on the organization from outside agencies; broad changes in geopolitical relationships necessitating change in organizational operations; pressures associated with declining markets; hypercompetitive business pressures; and the pressure to maintain corporate reputation and credibility with stakeholders.
3. Discuss and provide examples of the differences between first-order, incremental change and second-order change, discontinuous change.
4. Discuss the ways a manager can determine if the organization is ready to change.
5. Identify the reasons people resist change and what a skilled manager can do to overcome resistance.
