Generally speaking, state juvenile justice systems handle cases involving defendants under the age of 18. Youth are held in several different types of facilities. Some facilities look a lot like prisons, some are prisons, and some offer youth more freedom and services.
1. Explain how juvenile offenders are processed through the Juvenile Justice system.
2. Explain if increased incarceration reduces rates of juvenile crime.
3. Discuss the myths and realities that exist in the juvenile justice system.
