Problem
In this part of the activity, you will perform a Synthesizer Solo, where you will synthesize concepts and information to address discussion points regarding the atmospheric greenhouse effect and its potential impacts on flight. You will also formulate some discussion reflecting on your learning experience.
In the Synthesizer Solo section of the submission template document, develop a single, concise yet sufficiently detailed (roughly hundred words) paragraph addressing each of the following discussion points.
A. Summarize the process by which our atmosphere is heated. Support your summary with both conceptual background information and with data, as well as observations and conclusions from all four of the atmospheric greenhouse effect simulation experiments.
B. Discuss the potential impacts of a warmer climate on aircraft performance and safety. Support your discussion with data, observations, and conclusions from the atmospheric greenhouse effect simulation experiments and related concepts explored in this and previous modules regarding the properties and structure of the atmosphere and associated applications to flight.
C. Inside the cockpit of a small general aviation aircraft parked on a tarmac on a sunny afternoon, the air temperature can easily reach 120 degrees Fahrenheit. Explain how this can happen. Support your explanation with both conceptual background information on the atmospheric greenhouse effect and with data, as well as observations and conclusions from the atmospheric greenhouse effect simulation experiments.
D. Develop a few sentences of critical self-reflection on your preparedness to complete this activity. While engaging in self-reflection, the objective is to analyze things for what they are, not what you think they should be, with a perspective as if you were watching an event from a distance. In reflecting on your preparedness to complete the activity, consider the knowledge and skills you have acquired to this point in the course (from readings, lessons, and activities) as well as any learning or experiences previous to this course.
Additional Requirements:
A. Utilize mainly course resources - lessons and previously completed activities - to formulate your document. If any outside sources are utilized, provide a list of those sources at the bottom of your document.
B. Develop your discussion using your own words, without directly quoting or paraphrasing from the course or outside resources.
