Discuss the importance of screening and early intervention

Assignment Task:

You are a first-year student nurse working in a primary healthcare setting. Your clinical placement involves providing care to a diverse community with varying healthcare needs across the lifespan. You have been assigned to care for Michael, a 57-year-old Caucasian male who has recently been diagnosed with Heart Failure. Michael has a past medical history of smoking (he stopped 10 years ago) and heavy alcohol consumption (30+ units per week). His BMI is 35. Michael does not exercise often but he takes care of his grandchildren a few days per week and works part time stacking shelves in a supermarket.

He used to enjoy walking but he doesn't have the energy to do  anymore. His diet consists of high fat and high carbohydrate foods and he likes sugary drinks.

1. Discuss the importance of screening and early intervention in preventing and managing Heart Failure considering Michael risks factors.
