Discuss the impact of gentrification on communities

Assignment task:

Our final set ending of TED Talks this week allows us to concentrate on gentrification and other decisions made by city governments to shape the future of cities.  Please respond to the following questions:

Who do you think belongs in a city?

Do you agree with the premise of the TED Talk video that we must keep our governments and ourselves accountable for keeping cities safe for everyone? Why or why not?

Discuss the impact of gentrification on communities and what you think might be a potential solution.

What do you think are the greatest risks for cities' futures?

I'm also interested in your thoughts on how cities like Tokyo or New York, which are already megacity hubs, can lead the way in adopting these green technologies and policies. Do you think their current systems are equipped to handle the rapid changes necessary for sustainable urbanization, or are they still falling short?
