Discussion:
At one point in time, when discussing the functionality of Congress, the editors of our text, McKenna & Feingold, wrote, ?ethical violations, undemocratic procedures, pork-barrel legislation, intimacy with lobbyists, and hyper partisanship? continue to exist in Congress under both Democrat and Republican party majorities in one or both houses of Congress. Is this something to be concerned about or simply a fact of life that must be endured? Do we really want a speedy system, where laws are pushed through before a consensus develops or a system in which the views of the minority get trampled by a rush to action by the majority? Briefly explain your view, indicating what, if anything, you as a citizen, should do.
