Problem 1: Discuss where you see both of these factors influencing the AOU in the water. In other words, where do you see old waters and also high productivity?
Problem 2: Is there a region where waters are relatively young but still have lower oxygen (i.e., higher AOU) due to high productivity?
Problem 3: Based on what you have now learned about the ocean in this lab, in what season would ocean acidification be most stressful on the Oregon coast? Remember, ocean acidification is the decrease in pH to due increased CO2, in this case CO2 from the decay of organic matter and not from the atmosphere.
Problem 4: If you ran an oyster hatchery, would you be most concerned about ocean acidification if you lived in Oregon or Rhode Island? Why?
