Pre-Podcast Check In
Statement of Purpose (1-2 pages: one per group):
Identify your topic. This can include but is not limited to books, movies, TV shows, comics, music, albums, theater, or other podcasts.
What is the goal your podcast is trying to accomplish? What pieces of pop culture are you including? What are you going to talk about?
How will you frame the discussion for your audience? What is each person's role within the group (recorder, editor, writer/researcher)?
Focus Options:
¦ Compare and Contrast two (Movies, Albums, TV shows, Books, Comics, etc.)
¦ Talk about an underlying theme or symbolism in the piece using your pop culture artifact as an example (each person should provide one unique insight but you can converse/comment on any or all)
¦ Discuss the evolution or change of an (actor, singer, producer/director, author) over time
¦ Other (must be pre-approved)
Podcast itself Conversationally/debate/discussion
Assignment Requirements:
5-10 Minutes in Length
Summary/Background information for uniformed audiences
Depth of discussion (go beyond I like it, it's cool, it's bad...or explain specifically why you like it, it's cool, or it's bad)
Use specific examples from the piece
Analysis of the topic material
Conversational style discussion between group members
Final evaluation or recommendation of your topic
Semi-professional editing quality (cut out dead air, unnecessary noises, and mistakes)
