The Chief Executive officer, Tom Holland, has asked you to meet with him to discuss the project.
Jan enters Tom Hollands' office.
Jan: "Hello."
Tom:
"Hello, Jan. Thanks for taking the time to meet with me."
Tom:
"I would like to discuss the objectives of the Health Information Management Committee, we have operated informally for quite a while, but times change, and we need to develop more formal policies, processes, and documentation."
Jan:
"I appreciate you covering the details with me, and I have spent some time researching and observing the hospital's daily operations and noticed the informality."
Tom:
"This committee will be responsible for developing policies and procedures to formalize how the process for how patients can access their health information, and appropriate healthcare professionals will be able to access to patient information, communicate, and protect it. Your first initiative is to demonstrate to your committee your knowledge of content related to health information as well as establish content expectations for all committee members."
Jan:
"I have thought about how to present the health information needed for this project to the committee."
Tom:
"Share your idea."
Jan:
"I have decided to prepare a report that I will send to the committee members prior to our first official committee meeting. I have started locating resources for the list of health information content to be presented in the meeting."
Tom:
"That sounds like a good plan, and I am happy you have already started. Could you send me a copy of the report when you have it completed?"
Jan:
"I sure will. Thank you for sharing your insights and listening to my idea."
