Case Assignment
Use the readings in Module 1 and any other relevant sources to write a 3 to 5 page paper that responds to the following questions:
• What is curriculum?
• Include a discussion of historical and current perspectives on curriculum theory and development.
• Identify a curriculum theory that is most applicable to your current (or future) role as an educational leader.

Critical thinking/Application to Professional Practice - Demonstrates mastery conceptualizing the problem, and viewpoints and assumptions of experts are analyzed, synthesized, and evaluated thoroughly. Conclusions are logically presented and applied to professional practice in an exceptional manner.

The Curriculum - Theory and Development
The Module 1 readings have provided a background on curriculum theory and development. While the readings are a blend of theory and practical considerations, it is important to translate these theories into action in a contemporary educational setting. Identify a curriculum (or a portion thereof) at your educational institution (or another educational institution that you have access to). Write a 3 to 5 page paper that:
• includes a brief summary of the curriculum
• identifies the curriculum theory most closely aligned to it
• explains your view on the effectiveness of this curriculum
• provides future recommendations for this curriculum as an educational leader at your institution.
