Problem
1) Discuss the line from the Langston Hughes's poem "A Dream Deferred" stating "Does it dry up like a raisin in the sun?" and how it describes the aspect of race based on the short stories, poems, or play/movie?
2) Discuss the aspects of assimilation and its difficulties compared to today's world based on the readings. Have things changed for the better since their publications or for worse? Provide examples from the short stories, poems, or play/movie.
The stories, poems, and movie/play discussed both in and out of class are as follows:

All essays are written in third person, which means the following pronouns are prohibited: I, me, my, you, your, us, we, and our. Also, your thesis statement should be the final sentence of the introductory paragraph and all body paragraphs must be at least six sentences long.
The response should include a reference list. Using double-space, Times New Roman 12 pnt font, one-inch margins, and APA style of writing and citations.
