Over the last 102 years, the population has experienced 5 pandemics of novel respiratory viruses: influenza pandemics in 1918, 1957,1968, and 2009, and the current coronavirus pandemic. We've had other pandemic scares, where epidemic viruses emerged but did not spread far enough to become pandemic: SARS, Ebola, Zika, avian influenza, and the sexually-transmitted HIV pandemic. Yet each time we seem to be surprised and unprepared.
After learning about the ways various countries have prepared and responded to the coronavirus pandemic. the key aspects you believe are critical for responding to the next pandemic threat, whatever that may be, and key leaders who would be responsible for these aspects (please refer to the leader's positions here, not specific named individuals).
