Discuss style reflects the destruction of post-wwii germany

Assignment task: Borchert's Stories: "The Rats Do Sleep Nights," "The Three Dark Kings" and "The Bread" Lies are told In the "The Rats Do Sleep Nights" (rats are nocturnal, after all, and come out at night) and in "The Bread" (the wife does not confront her husband when she sees the crumbs and tells him that she came into the kitchen because she also heard something). In your opinion, what function do these lies have in these stories? In "The Three Dark Kings" there are allusions to Christmas and the birth of Christ. What are some of these? In your opinion, what are some ways in which Borchert's writing style reflects the destruction of post-WWII Germany?
