Problem: The strategic importance of forecasting at my organization is vital to the overall care of our members and team success. The qualitative forecasting approach that best coincides with my organization is executive opinion. The director/executive team meets monthly to discuss the organization's bottom line and outcomes. For example, during those meetings, we go over budgets, variances, staffing, and the list usually goes on. Typically, the end all be all is with our executive director that shares his opinion or he makes a decision about what needs to get completed or done. One way to improve organizational processes or strategic decisions his discussing what the priority is at the time. Everything is a priority but it's essential to pinpoint a task that urgently needs to get completed. Staffing is usually always a big issue and intake's so the company doesn't lose money. Our meetings can be structured in a way to be solution based and understand what is happening in real-time with the directors sharing what they see in the day-to-day operations. Another example would be to delegate to strong leaders specific objectives to get completed within a timely manner. Executive opinion I believe would be beneficial if the opinions weren't only by executives and other leaders could implement strategic planning for overall improvements.
