Assignment Task:
Given that this is a personal reflection about your own relationship with science and science education, it needs to include specific examples and details of your own rather than vague/unspecific generalizations. You are not writing about science education generally, paraphrasing module content, or padding the writing with citations or references, but writing about your own experiences, associations, perceptions, and perspectives. Be as specific as possible and think about the where, when, who, why, how and the more detail the better the writing will be. You will write between 400 to 600 words on the following topic. Please write in the first person.
Science in school: A reflection about your feelings about your experiences with science classes you took in school (any level, elementary school to university). This can be positive, negative, or neutral. Some of us had great experiences of science, while for others it may have been traumatic, just be 'real' and talk about what you actually experienced. When someone says "science class" what comes to mind? What are your associations? What were your teachers like? If you can't remember a lot, you can focus on how your experiences with science in school made you feel and why it made you feel that way, or maybe choose a different theme (below).
