Textbook: Ancient Greek Philosophy - Socrates and Plato - "Euthyphro," "Apology," "Crito," and "Phaedo".
1) Discuss in detail the similarities and differences between the ontological views of Parmenides/Zeno, Heraclitus, and Leucippus/Democritus. Which are you most intrigued by, and why?
2) Discuss your reaction to Socrates' implicit criticism of democracy at his trial. How would you go about answering his question?
3) What argument did Socrates use to convince Crito that it wouldn't be right for Socrates to escape from jail? Do you agree with his argument? Why or why not?
