Discuss public administrators work with the government


Assignment task:

From the reading that was provided I believe that public administration can be defined as a process that involves budgeting, people management, leadership, and the ability to think like a businessman (Bovaird & Loeffler, 2016, p. 6). These processes combined are what makes a public administrator, they can leverage people and work with different sectors of the public and private to meet a unified goal. What made me come up with this kind of definition is from what I gathered from reading the introduction chapter of Public Management and Governance. It seems that Public Administrators work with all parties of the government to include local, state, and federal. Their main goal is to represent the public and do good for them, from my understanding (Bovaird & Loeffler, 2016, p. 7). I believe my definition compares well with that of other definitions. Though some are varied, the majority seem to agree that public administrators work with the government to ensure that public needs are met.
