Problem:
A myocardial infarction is referred to as a heart attack and is prolonged ischemia with irreversible damage to the myocardium. There are two types, STEMI with ST elevation and NSTEMI with no ST elevation. In both males and females, they present with typical symptoms for STEMI and NSTEMI like chest, arm, or jaw pain. Females tend to present with atypical symptoms like nausea, shortness of breath, anxiety, nausea, and vomiting. Males usually experience classic warning signs, such as uncomfortable pressure or pain in the center of the chest that goes and comes back. The pain spreads to the shoulder, neck, or arm, and is accompanied by fainting, sweating, or shortness of breath. They also experience extreme chest discomfort and fainting.
