Problem: Chris is a community service worker at the Millfield healthcare centre. He was recently assigned responsibility for supporting an individual with a borderline personality disorder who had become increasingly lonely and isolated from the community. This individual had also overdosed and selfharmed on a number of occasions. Chris has generally been happy with the level of success in assisting the client through the use of music therapy and the arrangement of regular exercise. However, he was quite concerned when the individual acted aggressively and threatened him at a recent meeting. Chris feels that the individual should be a referred to a professional counsellor with behaviour management skills.
