The purpose of this focus on active military and/or veteran's mental health benefits is paramount because identifying a deficit in resources and debatable wait times, which may produce mental health resources to be neglected, will identify gaps in which case additional services could be rendered.
Focusing on the reasonability of wait times for active military and/or veterans with mental health issues and what effects it can have on their mental health is principal to support mental health challenges and help active military and/or veterans to live life to their full potential. Depending on the mental health status, a person could be more at risk of self-harm, chronic stress, anxiety, and substance abuse. Understanding the length of these wait times and active military and/or veteran's reactions will help us determine if more resources should be available. At the same time, portraying if additional resources should be available.
The participants in the study are veterans or active duty military. The data sources came from the University of Alabama database. The procedure used was to look up the articles using the keywords, veterans, mental health, and time management. The plan is to compare the articles and find the ones that contain the proper information such as the mention of wait times for mental health care for veterans and active duty military and possible solutions to the wait times.
So far the data analysis shows that there is a problem with wait times in the VA administration, however, there are things being done to try and help fix those wait times.
