Using a primary (11th or 12th century) source and modern (21st century) source, write essay on the early Crusades (time period 1st-3rd centuries).
The essay must address all the components listed below.
1. Include a proper introduction with a thesis statement, and a conclusion (summary) of what you discovered and important points.
2. Explain the Crusades from the perspective of two of the following medieval groups: The Catholic Church, Muslims, European kings or nobles, the Byzantine Empire, and/or Italian merchants.
3. Discuss the political, economic, religious, and cultural (education, science, philosophy, medicine, literature) outcomes and consequences related to the Crusades.
4. Finally, identify any correlations between the Crusades of the 11th and 12th centuries, and the geopolitical issues of the 21st century between the West (Europe and America) and Islam.
