Discuss number of genes likely involved in coat colour mice

Question: A pure-breeding tan mouse is bred with a true-breeding white mouse. Tan and white are both mutant coat colours. Twelve tan offspring are produced and two of these are later bred together. Of the six F2 mice some are tan, some are white, and one of them is black. What does this tell you about the number of genes likely involved in coat colour in mice?
