Topic: Marriage, Divorce, Family Planning, and Domestic Violence Discussion
Instructions:
Consider this a mini-essay of well-thought ideas.
Mainly Italy provided paper to gather information from.
countries to consider to compare ( Egypt, Canada, India, Brazil)
Of the countries under consideration (Italy) , what causes the fall in the marriage rate, the rise in the divorce rate, and the fall in the birth rate? Why?
Why do you think the divorce rate is higher in some countries than in others?
Here is an example of a response from other students to get an idea of how it should be done
"Canada seems to understand and have a high regard for the rights of women. Having the legal age of marriage at 18 is favorable to women and seems reasonable and in line with many other countries. The fact that Canada does have a system in place for divorce is also beneficial for women as without such system they might be forced to stay in abusive and/or unhappy marriages. Canada is doing the right thing by making contraception methods readily available which is hopefully reducing the amount of unwanted pregnancies.
I was somewhat surprised that Canada does not have any abortion laws in place but freely allows abortion and that the expenses of abortions are passed on to the taxpayers. In spite of this I believe it might be beneficial for Canada to actually have some abortion laws in place. It is good to know that Canada does strictly enforce their domestic violence laws but it is also disturbing to know that the rate of domestic violence against women is still 28%. Perhaps there is a way for Canada to add to their domestic violence laws in an effort to reduce that number. "
