Problem
Police arrest a man and his teenaged accomplice on suspicion of murder in three interconnected missing persons cases. The police force an illegal confession from both of them, telling where the bodies are hidden. One was put into a dumpster in an alley downtown, another has been hidden in the town's water tower, and the third has been cremated and the ashes scattered in a field outside town. Separately discuss for the man and the teenager whether or not any due process rights have been violated here. If so, cite the relevant Supreme Court cases that concern those rights. For each murder, will their confessions be allowed as evidence in trial? Why or why not?
