Problem: In this week's reading, lecture and supplemental content we learned about the importance of voter turnout and participation. You will have noticed that a much higher percentage of Americans over the age of 65 participate in elections (~70%) than do voters at the other end of the spectrum, those 18-25 (~30%).
The results of the election are going to have an impact on the young people for a lot longer than it will the elderly.
So why do you think so few eligible young people chose to vote? Do you think this is a problem? If not, how would you argue in favor of/justify young people choosing not to vote? If so, what do you think can be done to increase youth voter turnout?
