Assignment: Presenting Health Information as an Infographic
Outcomes:
? Distinguish methods of summarizing data, including histograms, stem and leaf displays, pie charts and bar charts.
? Demonstrate techniques of presenting and reporting data using a computer.
Course outcome:
Create visual representations of summary data with given health data.
An effective infographic presents information visually, efficiently, and clearly. Your task is to create an original infographic of a leading cause of death.
The infographic should contain the below:
? A description of the disease or condition.
? Data on incidence and prevalence presented in graphic form.
? Data on at least one mortality rate, such as a crude death rate or adjusted rate.
? One to three risk factors or determinants.
? One or two major prevention strategies specific to the target audience.

Unit outcomes addressed in this activity:
• Demonstrate an understanding of the problems associated with the effects of the environment on public health.
• Identify the importance of occupational safety and industrial hygiene in the workplace.
• Explain the most important challenges faced in environmental and public health.
Instructions:
Review the: Superfund: National Priorities List and choose your state. (my state is North Dakota) Just choose one site and write on it.
Choose a site , write a 7 to 10 page paper (not including title page and references) that gives the background of your hazardous waste site, what agencies were involved, what pollutants have been found there, the extent of contamination, the number of people harmed and with what diseases, what studies were done on the site and people, and what the clean-up consisted of.
