Assignment task:
Sociological imagination. This assignment think about yourself in relation to the course material. Reflect and support your ideas with key terms.
You will discuss how your evolved sociological imagination will play out in 3-4 different aspects of your life. What will you do differently, what might remain the same and why?
- a general direction or stance. Find your focus
- at least one theory
- terms and concepts from at least 3 different chapters
- at least 1-2 key terms in each paragraph to keep your sociological position
Your paper might not want to include:
- Opinions you can't support with evidence
- Definitions - show your understanding by operationizing the key term to infuse in paper.
- Balance your reflection within the sociological conversation you are creating.
Example: After learning about sociology, I view where I choose to work differently, how I parent my kids (gender), and are more flexible with students understanding the complexities and challenges college students face. That's what I write about and if you'll notice one of those topics is about me and two are about groups of people. How might you treat your co-workers or colleagues different? Do you want to travel more and experience things? Don't answer those questions but think about the life you are creating for yourself and how you can influence it for the better.
