A year ago both the written exam and the physical portion of the examination were revised. This written portion of the revised examination was administered on June 6th, and the physical portion of the exam was performed on June 8th. There were 2,000 persons taking both sections of the exam. Out of the 2,000 applicants, 285 were females. Of the 285 female applicants, 122 passed the written portion of the exam, and of the 1,715 males who took the written portion of the exam, 1,680 passed. After taking the physical portion of the exam, 29 females scored high enough to be placed on the eligibility list, while 1,500 males were placed on the list. 2. Analyze and explain whether the women who were not hired can make a claim under Section 1983.
