Problem: Recently General Motors and Volkswagon rant into major legal problems because upper management had hidden technical problems for their automobiles. Could anthropologists have recognized the coming problems and, if so, what could the have done? Obviously anthropologists were not there to advise and correct the problems. GM at least had anthropologists on staff. So what happened? Discuss how these problems relate to the larger cultures - American and German. Or is this just the "price of doing business?
