1. Expressionism: There was interest in particular form of aesthetics.

2. Dadaism: Dadaism employed primitivism in a modernist assault on contemporary society and values. The primitivism of Dada fed off an anti-art impulse to attack all cultural conventions, and then randomly reassemble the most basic elements of art, music, and language in new and novel ways.
