Problem: Admission to the Hospital Obtain consent and review prenatal records A focused obstetrical assessment only Medication history excluding alternative therapies Color of amniotic fluid if rupture of membranes has occurred CBC, blood type and Rh, GBS screen, and urinalysis Documentation of allergies and last food intake Immediate assessment of fetal heart rate if membranes are ruptured Cervical examination, especially if bleeding is noted
