Discussion:
Environmental Effects on Development
I need to discuss environmental and hereditary elements that affect physical growth and motor skills development in early childhood. I have come up with the following affects. Am I on the right track? Can you suggest some additional affects?
- Heredity affects physical growth by regulating production of hormones
- Extreme emotional deprivation interferes with production of growth hormones
- Disease can lead to malnutrition, which affects a child's development
- smoking- can lead to increase in infections, sinuses, and lungs.
- Parents can encourage their children to participate in physical activity
