Assignment task:
Prior to taking this course, I was oblivious to the complexity that is public policy as a whole, nor would I ever care to think twice about the process that lies behind implementing changes that would inevitably affect myself or my loved ones that surround me. After completing this course, one thing is certain: the field that is public policy affects all individuals regardless of their socioeconomic status, or demographics.
Throughout this course, I was reminded of how difficult it is to even be a stakeholder, or rather a policy maker. Through the various cases we have explored, I have learned that it is extremely difficult to please all sides. There will always be a "side" that is left disappointed or rather "unheard". It was also interesting to see how public policy manifests itself in the fields of education, business, schooling, and even the field that is transportation. I am grateful for this course as I am reminded that there is always hope for change through public policy.
