This unit discussed how to interact with clients in order to gather information and evaluate their financial situation. What kind of information should the client share with the attorney? Imagine the client has disclosed that they are a co-owner of a valuable piece of real estate on Miami Beach but that they transferred it to their brother a few months ago to "get it out of their name" until the bankruptcy filing is over. Discuss the ethical considerations that this disclosure has brought up. After hearing this, would you take the case, why or why not? If so, how would you advise the client? What action, if any, would you take if you were the attorney and why?
